If your office is equipped with an aging Nortel Networks Phone System, you may encounter issues such as the “Contact Admin” notification appearing on your Nortel T7316e.

1. Press  9 8 3
2. Enter System Admin Password  (see below) 

• See reference below for (2 vs 3 vs 4 digits)

1. Press AA
2. Press GRTG
3. Press GRTG
4. Enter Greeting Number (from 1 to 40) – typically “1”
5. Press OK
6. Press REC
7. Record your greeting at the tone
8. Press Ok to end your recording
9. Press
   1. PLAY to listen to the greeting
   2. Ok to accept the greeting
   3. RETRY to re-record the greeting
10. Repeat steps 5-9 to record another greeting
11. Press  to end.

Record a Company Greeting from an External Phone (Remotely)

1. Access the Administrator Mailbox by pressing ** while the greeting plays.
2. Enter the Administrator Mailbox number and password (see # 2 above).
3. Press 9 9
4. Press 2 (change a company greeting)
5. Enter the number to the greeting you wish to change (1-40)
6. Record your greeting after the tone
7. Press # to end your recording
8. Press
   1. 1 to play your recording
   2. # to accept your recording
   3. 2 to re-record your greeting

The most crucial step in unlocking your mailbox involves determining the correct password based on your extension length:

• 2-digit extensions: Default password is 120000
• 3-digit extensions: Default password is 1020000
• 4-digit extensions: Default password is 10020000
