    How do I access my Nortel Voicemail

    When accessing your Nortel Voicemail, it’s crucial to understand that there are three key sections you may need to navigate. Entering the wrong section without the proper knowledge can lead to functionality issues, so it’s essential to ensure you’re in the correct area before making any changes. Proper access is vital for maintaining the integrity of your voicemail system.

    How to retrieve voicemails from your personal voicemail box

    Check the Voicemail key or the Feature button, then 981

    Followed by your PIN Number

    All Norstar telephones provide voicemail voice prompts

    Once you are in your Voicemail you can listen to messages, change your greeting, change your password, etc

     

    How to Access Voicemail Programming & Auto Attendant Areas

    With Feature 983.

    The password consists of two parts: the system co-ordinators mailbox number (which depends on the DN length) and the personal password. Use the following table to determine your default password:

    To enter administration programming:

    Feature 983 then enter the log code (System Manager mailbox # followed by its password) & OK

    The System Manager mailbox can be 12, 102 or 1002 depending on how many digits your ext # is.

    The default password for System Manager is 0000, it may have been changed to 1234, 1111, or other.

    Example: if you are X221 then you are a 3-digit system, so use: 1020000 (where 0000 is the password)

    Log Code Defaults:

    DN length Default password
    2 120000
    3 1020000
    4 10020000

     

    Change the greeting in AA

    1. Press Feature 983 
    2. Enter LOG Code: _____, press OK 
    3. Press AA 
    4. Press Grtg, press Grtg again
    5. Enter the Greeting Number 1
    6. Press OK 
    7. Press Rec… record greeting, press OK when done
    8. Press OK to accept the recording: press Rls when done

     

    Change the greeting to play through parts of the day

    1. Press Feature 983 
    2. Enter LOG Code: _____, press OK 
    3. Press AA 
    4. Press Table, press 1,  press OK
    5. Press Change to 1 (Greeting 1)
    6. Do this for Morning, Afternoon, Evening, and Non-Business(if using)
